Students who have completed a minimum of level 6 may begin a Self Placement Internship. In this internship, students can find a job that integrates their Canadian workplace experience into their learning program. The Self Placement Internship is a flexible program that puts students in control of their work experience. Students are responsible for finding an appropriate job and may work for a minimum of 4 weeks to a maximum of 24 weeks. As the onus is on students’ to find work, the Self Placement Internship is our cheapest Internship option.
Remember that your Internship experience will become a part of your studies—you must complete your internship to graduate from VGC. Your language courses will help prepare you for your internship. Our specialized elective classes will help you customize your English to best prepare you for your Self Placed Internship. During your internship, you will not be alone. Our highly qualified counsellors will work with you every step of the way, providing encouragement, assistance and advice. They will work together with you if any problems arise during the course of your internship.
