Casual Study & Work in a Canadian Resort Once you have completed level 6 of our program, you have the option of undertaking our Casual Study & Work – Resort program. You will be placed in a resort town in Western Canada and will generally work in service industry jobs interacting with Canadians and tourists from around the world. It’s a great way to meet new friends and practice your English in one of the most naturally spectacular countries in the World—Canada!

As with all of our Vancouver internship programs, you must be enrolled in the General English Plus or English for Academic Purposes studies programs. We will work hard to place you in a field of your choice and will recommend electives that teach English specific to your new job.

You will be working in a real Canadian workplace for between 12 and 24 weeks. You will feel your English skills improving every day as you interact with your Canadian coworkers. Remember that your casual work at a resort is a part of your overall VGC language program. You must successfully complete your work internship to graduate.

Don’t worry—you won’t be alone! VGC Language School will help you prepare for your internship and you can contact us any time during your internship if you have questions or concerns. If there are any difficulties during your placement, we will work with you and your host company to find a solution.
