The University Pathway Program offered at VGC Language School is a comprehensive test preparation and academic skill development program. It is designed to further educate and support the needs of ESL students struggling at universities and colleges. The program is also ideal for current students preparing to enter college or university for the first time. The University Pathway Program is based on our successful TOEFL and IELTS programs.

University Pathway Programs The University Pathway Program helps you fill the gap between what ESL programs typically offer and what post-secondary institutions require. Studying in a foreign university demands high level English communication skills, particularly for reading and writing. Vocabulary tends to be advanced, and effective analysis skills are a necessity. VGC’s University Pathway Program places great emphasis on extensive university-style reading, writing and analysis. This provides you a virtual preview of university expectations. You will build the advanced reading, writing and analysis skills you need to write A-grade term papers and presentations.

The three-level integrated program is divided into three courses: Pathway – Intro, Pathway – Skill Development, and Pathway – University Bridge. Each stage of the class is eight weeks long for a total duration of 24 weeks. The course is supported by a wide range of elective classes that help students prepare for university. They include:

A very important part of the University Pathway Program is the personal speaking and writing feedback you receive from our teachers. Every two weeks our friendly English teachers have one-on-one meetings with you to review your progress. Together we will recognize what areas need more work and how you can improve.
