VGC’s General English Plus program is a more specialized way to study English in Vancouver. It is similar to the General English program but with a few more hours of learning and a LOT more substance. Students add customizable elective classes to their program for a more personalized approach to building their English skills.
The General English Plus program has 24 hours of interactive classes every week. Each day there are two English Communication classes in the morning. VGC’s TESL qualified teachers make learning fun. You may think you are playing games and having fun debates, but you are really learning how to refine those tricky grammar points. In between classes there is a social break. You can relax, have a snack, chat to your new friends or play Wii games in our comfortable lounge. By clearing your mind, you’ll be refreshed and ready for your next class.
After lunch, you will have your elective class. Elective classes offer you a unique opportunity to develop specialized English language skills by focusing on the subject area of your choice. Subject choices range from business English to public speaking to creative writing, and beyond. VGC’s elective courses give you an edge by customizing your English skills. Daily classes finish in the middle of the afternoon. After school, you are invited to join us in the school’s social activities. It’s the perfect way to make new friends, practice your English, and explore Vancouver’s city and culture. There is an endless amount of things to do in Vancouver! Talk to one of our Activities Coordinators to see what’s happening this week at VGC or to get some help planning your own adventure.
The General English Plus course is a 9-level language program. When complete, you will be fully prepared to begin training for your Vancouver IELTS exam, TOEFL exam or University Pathway program.
The General English Plus course is required if you wish to apply for the study and work programs in Vancouver. After you complete Level 6, you will be ready to begin your Vancouver internship in a real life Canadian work place.
