Applicants must:
To apply for a visa, you need your letter of acceptance, a valid passport, and proof of sufficient funds for your stay in Canada. Some countries also require a medical exam. Make sure that you have enough time to get proper documents by asking at the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate.
If you intend to study for six months or less in Canada, you only need a Visitor’s visa. Your Visitor’s visa may be waved depending on the country for which you hold a passport. Please check the list for countries that require Visas in order to enter Canada as visitors.
If you plan to study six months or less, you do not need a Study Permit. However, if you want to study for longer than six months, you must apply for a Student Visa before arriving in Canada. It is highly recommended to apply for a Study Permit even if you are going to study for 6 months or less as you may decide to extend your studies to more than six months. You may extend the Study Permit from within Canada, but you cannot get a Study Permit within Canada.
Once you apply for a Study Permit at a Canadian embassy or consulate, they will issue your student authorization letter which you will exchange for a Student Visa once you arrive in Canada.

To take part of our Study and Work program, you must obtain your Study Permit before entering Canada. A Study Permit will allow the school to assist you in applying for a Work Permit after arriving in Canada. In some instances, Canadian consulates provide you a Work Permit along with the Study Permit.
If you plan to visit the USA, check with the US embassy or consulate in your country about application procedures. We strongly recommend that you get your US visa before you come to Canada.
